Joint Pain
Experiencing joint pain can be a serious matter,
especially when it hurts to the point where you are
immobile or are unable to carry out your daily
activities. Also, because there are so many joints in
the human body, all of us are very vulnerable to joint
pains, which can affect anyone. What was once commonly
associated with aging, has now been deemed to affect
literally anyone who might have over exerted or overused
certain joints in their body.
Out of the many different types of joint pains,
experiencing pain in the joint of the knee tends to be
the most common. There are a few reasons that this is
so. Because the knee is a joint that bears a lot of
weight, in addition to having a ligament that holds
three bones together, it tends to be overstretched very
easily. Though the cartilage pad that supports the joint
behaves like a cushion, along with synovial fluids that
lubricate the joint, the knee still remains a very
complicated joint.
In addition to having a complicated design, the knee
also has to bear most of our body's weight, making it
very susceptible to wear and tear. As a result, there
can be many different causes of knee joint pains, and it
differs with each individual case.
Apart from constantly having to carry the weight of the
torso, the knee joint can also cause pain if the
ligament suffers an injury from a sudden twist of the
knee, or if you fall in an unnatural manner. A sudden
shock to the knee can also cause immediate pain and
swelling, upon which you should definitely seek medical
attention.
Another cause of pain in the knee joint might occur when
the tendons in the knee become inflamed due to constant
stretching and straining. This is common among athletes
who train for long hours, and are putting themselves
through high impact workouts that include a lot of
running and jumping. Having your knee swell up as a
result of an inflammation in the tendons is considered a
serious injury, and it is best to consult a qualified
doctor for further treatment.
In any case, should the pains in your joint persist for
4-5 days without getting any better, you should seek the
opinion of a qualified doctor. Applying home remedy
treatments might ease it temporarily, but if you fail to
diagnose the root cause of the pain you are
experiencing, you will never be able to encourage proper
healing of the joint pain that you are experiencing.
