It is better to eliminate the behavior that causes pain early. If there are habits you have that result in pain, such as sitting badly, or not taking regular ergonomic breaks when you are at the computer, it is better to change those habits. Ignoring the signals your body sends, when you notice a twinge of pain, won’t help you in the long run.

When nerve endings get damaged, they sometimes never grow back, resulting in numbness. Sometimes they don’t grow back as they should, or begin to fire irregularly, causing sharp sensations without a cause. The body can tend to operate in a loop with pain, so that a little pain triggers off more pain, when the system is not working as it should.
